TeeParTea's Why

Fostering mental wellness through close connections.

Our Founder Tahirah, an avid fine china collector and proud owner of over 200 tea cups, created TeeParTea as a way to offer a fresh, new take on an old past time-tea parties. Tahirah believes in creating a fun but equally luxe tea party experience for all, as a way to foster and maintain meaningful connections and conversations over one of the most ubiquitous human activities-consuming food and drink. As a child, Tahirah looked forward to her annual local church fundraiser which always included a $5 ticket to go to tea. It was a time to get fancy, use the really pretty china, hang out with adults, and feel like a VIP.

The need to connect and spend time  with the people that we love and care about, can be central contributor to improving ones mental health. This is especially true during the colder months of the year, where many people struggle with low moods, feelings of  isolation, to get enough sunlight, and to engage in meaningful leisure activities.   As a mental health counsellor and an advocate for the infusion of functional emotional/mental wellness experiences into daily life, Tahirah is constantly looking at fun and functional ways that people can experience and engage in caring for their emotional health in community.

So have a tea party-complete with carefully selected teas, a sumptuous spread of sweet and savory treats, fine China and beautiful decor, but more importantly, with the people who bring sunshine into your lives.
